New Year’s Resolutions for the Environment!

This past year has been full of crucial steps toward protecting the environment…and challenges to protecting natural spaces and natural resources. From progressive strides such as the Paris Agreement, to obstacles like the pipeline that was almost erected at Standing Rock in North Dakota, 2016 has been a roller coaster of ride for those concerned with the environment, which is to say is has been an average year for those concerned with the environment. Green Lights Celebration for Sustainable Indiana 2016

Parts of the local Indiana community have taken phrase think globally, act locally to a new level this October.

The local Indiana Green Movement has seen a lot of growth in the past few years, and to honor those who have contributed to this exciting development, the nonprofit Earth Charter Indiana along with Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne is hosting the Green Lights Celebration for Sustainable Indiana 2016. The event will take place October 28, 7 pm- 9 pm in the Auer Concert Hall on the Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne campus.

The celebration will showcase local ideas and innovations that have had positive impacts on sustainability in the northeast region of Indiana. Those who have had the most impact will be award Green Lights Awards to commend them for their contribution to sustainability in Indiana.

To add to the entertainment for the night, IPFW’s Music Department will be performing. Please join us on this delightful occasion to commemorate those who have done their part to make our world more sustainable.

Flow the St. Joe 2016

sjrwiRegistration is now open for Flow the St. Joe  2016.  Paddle a canoe or kayak from Spencerville to Leo-Cedarville on Saturday, September 24th.

The $20 registration fee includes breakfast, transportation to the launch site, lunch, and live music provided by the Jug Huffers.
