Happy World Water Day!

Water is a powerful element, causing both destruction while  facilitating life. If you  have regular access to clean drinking, count yourself lucky, because you are among the few in the world who can make that claim. To appreciate water, go through your regular routine today, and think about all the times you turn on the tap, run the shower, start the dishwasher or clothes washer, water the plants, give your dog a bath, any task that requires water. This past year has been full of crucial steps toward protecting the environment…and challenges to protecting natural spaces and natural resources. From progressive strides such as the Paris Agreement, to obstacles like the pipeline that was almost erected at Standing Rock in North Dakota, 2016 has been a roller coaster of ride for those concerned with the environment, which is to say is has been an average year for those concerned with the environment. Carmel’s GOP Mayor is a Champion for Green Living

Carmel, Indiana’s six-term mayor, John Brainard, has served as mayor for two decades and has seen the city triple its population, as well as expand its sustainable living opportunities. The mayor has also served on President Obama’s climate task force, one of only four Republican members and one of two GOP mayors on the task force. He has a made a career out building up Carmel, Indiana for a sustainable future.
